Awarded Funding

The New Mexico Tribal Behavioral Health Providers Association (NMTBHPA) is proud to announce its role in supporting the Culturally Based Harm Reduction by and for Native Communities in New Mexico grant opportunity. In partnership with Vital Strategies, which is funding implementation and technical assistance, and Americans for Indian Opportunity (AIO), serving as the grants administrator, NMTBHPA promoted the opportunity and contributed to the review and selection process. A total of 16 tribal programs were funded in July. Together, we are ensuring that tribal entities and Indigenous-based organizations across New Mexico have access to resources that strengthen culturally grounded harm reduction strategies and meet the unique needs of their communities.
